A standard aluminium sill conducts cold straight through from outside to inside. A thermal-break threshold puts an insulating barrier in the middle of that path. Pair it with a correctly set bottom sweep and a multi-point lock that pulls the slab evenly into its weatherstripping, and the draught disappears.
